NEENAH, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) — A high school student in the Fox Valley is being commended for notching a perfect score on his ACT test.
School officials say Neenah junior Tony Marose earned a composite score of 36 — the highest possible exam result. That number represents a combination of his math, science, reading and English scores; it does not necessarily mean Marose answered every question correctly.
According to ACT data, the national average score for the exam is a 19.5. A total of 1,386,355 students nationwide took the ACT test in 2023 and only 2,542 earned a perfect 36. That about 0.18%.
Marose is the son of Andrew and Carolyn Marose. He attended Hoover Elementary School.
School officials say Marose has a perfect 4.0 grade point average and participates in cross country and tennis.
