GREEN BAY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – The prices of some rides at the Bay Beach Amusement Park will rise this season – including a 50-cent bump for the Zippin Pippin roller coaster – but the six one-ticket rides will be free on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, according to information in the Parks Committee agenda packet.
There is no admission fee for the park on the city’s north side. The ride tickets will remain $.25 each, but 10 of the 22 rides would see an increase in how many tickets are required when the season opens Saturday.
Among the changes:
- The largest increase is for the Zippin Pippin, which increases from four tickets ($1) to six ($1.50).
- All of rides which were three tickets in 2023 ($.75) will now be four tickets.
- The Giant Slide increases from one ticket ($.25) to two ($.50).
- The six rides which are one ticket – boats, Lady Bugs, Granny Bugs, Jeeps, Race Cars, and Sky Fighters – will be free on the middle three days of the week.
In all, the park has 22 rides. Six rides will be one ticket, seven rides will be two tickets, eight rides will be four tickets, and the roller coaster will be six.
The City Council’s Parks Committee will discuss the new structure at its meeting at 5 p.m. Wednesday at City Hall.
The park is open on weekends starting May 4. Weekday hours begin May 21. The last day of the season is Sept. 29.
