(WTAQ-WLUK) — Sturgeon spawning is winding down on the Wolf River.
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources says activity at Bamboo Bend in Shiocton and the Sturgeon Trail near New London has stopped. At the Shawano dam, there was less activity Friday than earlier in the week.
Spawning had also stopped at the Princeton dam on the upper Fox River.
Spawning activity was recorded at the Peshtigo dam on the Peshtigo River, with high numbers of sturgeon still visible. At the De Pere dam on the lower Fox River, a few sturgeon had been seen cruising the shallows, but spawning had not yet begun.
