BROWN COUNTY, WI (WTAQ) — Brown County United Way will be hosting a Free Tax Assistance Prepping service on March 29 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
This service, provided through the Tax-Aide program of the AARP Foundation, is open to individuals of all ages and income levels. No AARP membership is required for this free assistance.
Rashad Cobb, Chief Operating Officer with Brown County United Way, says this service could save people between $500-$600, since they wouldn’t be using a traditional tax preparation service.
“At the United Way, we’re trying to find ways we can get real dollars into people’s pockets, and one of those ways is with free tax prep,” said Cobb.
Certified by the IRS and thoroughly trained, tax preparers will be available on-site at the Brown County United Way offices located at 112 N. Adams Street, Green Bay (first floor). Throughout the day, they will work with clients individually to process their taxes accurately and efficiently.
To participate in this free service, individuals must schedule an appointment in advance and pick up a tax preparation packet prior to their scheduled appointment time. Appointments can be scheduled by calling (920) 593-4764. If necessary, leave a message, your call will be returned.
