APPLETON, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) – Air Wisconsin plans to layoff more than 100 workers, in addition to the previously-announced job cuts due to the loss of its contract with American Airlines.
In January, the company announced more than 500 layoffs, including 284 in Appleton.
According to the state Department of Workforce’s website, the revised notice adds 117 job reductions. However, the actual letter references 128 positions.
“At this time, the reductions are expected to be temporary for our unionized employees (as required by the applicable collective bargaining agreements) and permanent for management/salaried employees. The duration of the reduction is unknown and will be dependent future opportunities, as they may arise. The resulting reduction will affect approximately 128 salaried/ management,” wrote Tina Vos, vice president of Human Resources.
The reductions include furloughs to start this month.
Air Wisconsin also increased the number of layoffs in Milwaukee, according to the DWD website.
