FOND DU LAC COUNTY, WI (WTAQ-WLUK) โ The Fond du Lac County Sheriffโs Office says a 45-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested after a 3.5 mile vehicle pursuit.
Deputies say it happened Friday night.
A deputy made a traffic stop on a vehicle for an equipment violation on S. Military Rd. and I-41. Another deputy arrived on scene.
The initial deputy asked the driver to step out of the vehicle, but refused the deputiesโ multiple commands.
The driver then went to put the car in drive, according to deputies, and another deployed his taser on the driver.
The taser deployment was unsuccessful and the vehicle drove away leading to a vehicle pursuit.
It started northbound on Military Rd.
Deputies say the driver turned off all of his lights and increased speeds, while disobeying the lights and sirens.
They also say the driver hit a roundabout at Morris St. The vehicle then continued and hit a curb at Main St. causing significant damage to the vehicle.
A deputy was able to perform a pit maneuver on the vehicle. The driver then went off the road and drove through a lawn on Camelot Dr. causing property damage.
Another deputy was able to perform a successful pit maneuver and the vehicle stopped.
No deputies were injured.
Two sheriffโs office squad cars received minor damage during the pit maneuver.
The man was evaluated by paramedic due to the taser deployment.
